What are the system requirements for Astropad?

Recommended System Requirements —
We recommend a 2013 or newer MacBook Pro, iMac or Mac Pro for the best experience.

Minimum System Requirements — 
Astropad Standard: macOS 10.9 or later, and iOS 8 or later

Astropad Studio: macOS 10.10 or later, and iOS 9 or later

Astropad Mini: macOS 10.9 or later, and iOS 8.2 or later

Do I need a Mac to use Astropad?

Yes, Astropad needs both a Mac and iPad connected together to work.

What kind of stylus can I use?

Astropad Standard: See our compatible styluses here. 

Astropad Studio: Apple Pencil only

Do I need an iPad Pro for Astropad Studio?

Yes. You can still subscribe to Studio if you don’t have an iPad Pro, but Studio is optimized for the iPad Pro/ Apple Pencil. We don’t advise using Astropad Studio with any iPad other than the iPad Pro.

Astropad Studio Subscriptions

How does the free trial work?

When you download the Astropad Studio app, you will be asked to register for an account. After choosing a payment plan (monthly or annual), your one-week free trial will begin. You will be charged for your subscription at the end of the free trial period.

If I already own Astropad Standard, how do I upgrade to Astropad Studio?

Current Astropad Standard customers will need to purchase the separate Astropad Studio iOS app.

How does Astropad Studio billing work?

When you register for an account with Astropad, you will be charged through your iTunes account following your free trial.

Is my Astropad Studio account the same as my iTunes account?

No. Your Astropad account registration allows you to login to Astropad from any iPad. Your iTunes account is where you will handle subscription payment.

Will my subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Your subscription will renew automatically unless it is cancelled more than 24 hours in advance of your renewal date.
