TESTIMONIALS

People are saying that Astropad is replacing the Wacom Cintiq.
Here’s the evidence.

TECHNOLOGY

liquid-new-pro

Powered by LIQUID

Creating Astropad required innovative new technology we call LIQUID. We tried existing technologies but none of them delivered the performance we demanded. So we developed LIQUID and we are now able to deliver incredible performance and image quality well beyond existing tools.

  • Designed specifically for Wi-Fi
  • Incredibly responsive, bursting to 60 fps
  • Color corrected and true to the source material
  • GPU accelerated, so the Mac stays fast
  • ARM assembly code on the iPad for maximum battery life
  • Engineered specifically for the requirements of art and design

LIQUID is 2x faster than AirPlay: AirPlay on the Mac is limited to 30 fps, LIQUID blows right past it at 60fps

LIQUID is better than the highest quality JPEG: LIQUID is even higher quality than a JPEG file saved at 100% quality from Photoshop

TEAM

Built by ex-Apple engineers
Matt & Giovanni
Matt & Giovanni (Full Image)

Astropad and the underlying LIQUID technology was developed by Matt Ronge and Giovanni Donelli. Matt and Giovanni are long time Mac developers who met while working at Apple in 2006. Matt worked on QuickTime while Giovanni worked on Mac OS X.

Matt and Giovanni were inspired by the original Macintosh and early creative apps like MacPaint that opened up new possibilities. The Astro HQ logo is a play on the Dogcow and a testament to the idea of the computer as a “Bicycle for your mind”.

Astropad was launched in early 2015 and is based out of San Francisco and Minneapolis.

“We are on a journey to create the next generation graphics tablet.”
